Influence of engine load and fuel droplet size on performance of a CI engine fueled with cottonseed oil and its blends with diesel fuel
Tizane Daho, Gilles Vaitilingom, Salifou K. Ouiminga, Bruno Piriou, Augustin S. Zongo, Samuel Ouoba, Jean Koulidiati
In this study, favorable conditions to achieve good combustion of cottonseed oil and its blends with diesel fuel in a direct injection diesel engine have been highlighted. This has been performed by analyzing fuel droplet size distribution and determining engine specific fuel consumption and thermal efficiency, combustion parameters (ignition(...)

Caractérisation du fonctionnement des aquifères dans la région de Ouagadougou à partir d'une étude de la qualité chimique des eaux
Suzanne Ouandaogo-Yaméogo, Bernard Blavoux, Julien Nikiema, Alain Nindaoua Savadogo

Trace elements and their correlations in hand-dug wells in a laterite environment in a semi-arid region: Case study of Tikaré, Northern Burkina Faso
Julien Nikiema, Mario Schirmer, Walter Gläßer, Ronald Krieg
In many regions of the world and especially in arid and semi-arid areas, groundwater is the major source of drinking water for most of the rural population. The main reason is probably its accessibility through hand-dug wells. However, the resource is supplied in most of the cases to the population as raw water because groundwater is assumed t(...)

Correlative and comparative characterization of main ion concentrations in laterite groundwater in semi-arid northern Burkina Faso
Julien Nikiema, Mario Schirmer, Walter Gläßer, Ronald Krieg
About 24 samples from hand-dug wells and boreholes were used to characterize concentrations of the main inorganic ions in a laterite environment under semi-arid climatic conditions in Tikaré, northern Burkina Faso. It was found that the most represented groundwater anion in groundwater was HCO3− with average levels of 49.1 mg/L in the dry seas(...)
