Exergy efficiency applied for the performance optimization of a direct injection compression ignition (CI), engine using biofuels.
Yao Azoumah, Joel Blin, Tizane Daho.
The need to decrease the consumption of materials and energy and to promote the use of renewable
resources, such as biofuels, stress the importance of evaluating the performance of engines based on the
second law of thermodynamics. This paper suggests the use of exergy analysis (as an environmental
assessment tool to account wastes and dete(...)

Convective drying characteristics of Amelie mango (Mangifera Indica L. cv.‘Amelie’) with correction for shrinkage
D. BATHIEBO
Drying characteristics of Amelie mango were investigated through slices shrinkage behaviour at 50, 60 and 70° C and drying kinetics at temperatures ranging from 50 to 70° C and for slices of 2.5, 5 and 10 mm thick. Results showed that mango slices shrinkage was less influenced by temperature and best fitted by the linear model of volume additi(...)

Mutualism between euryhaline tilapia Sarotherodon melanotheron heudelotii and Chlorella sp. Implications for nano-algal production in warmwater phytoplankton-based recirculating systems
Gilles S.; Lacroix G., Corbin D., Bâ N’G., Luna C I., Nandjui J., Ouattara A., Ouédraogo O., and Lazzaro X.
The West-African euryhaline tilapia, Sarotherodon melanotheron heudelotii shift from visually feeding on
zooplankton when juveniles to mostly filter feeding on phytoplankton when adults. When reared using
an appropriate ration in intensive aquaculture systems, S. m. heudelotii also consume algal-based detritus,
and contribute to sediment mi(...)

Electrogenerated base-promoted synthesis of dithiocarbamate acid esters and 3-(N-Substituted-amino)-2-cyanodithiocrotonates from primary or secondary amines...
I. TAPSOBA
Electrogenerated cyanomethyl anion promotes the reaction between primary or secondary amines, carbon disulfide, and alkyl or benzyl halide. Secondary amines are converted to alkyl or benzyl dithiocarbamates, whereas primary amines give N-substituted alkyl or benzyl 3-amino-2-cyanodithiocrotonates. The mechanisms are discussed.

DETERMINATION DES PARAMETRES ELECTRIQUES D’UNE PHOTOPILE SOUS ECLAIREMENT MONOCHROMATIQUE EN MODULATION DE FREQUENCE, A PARTIR DES DIAGRAMMES DE BODE ET DE NYQUIST
M. NDIAYE , Z. NOUHOU BAKO, I. ZERBO, A. DIENG, F. I. BARRO, G. SISSOKO

Approximation of the average power variation for Geometric adding signal approach of PAPR reduction in context of OFDM signals
Désiré Guel, Jacques Palicot
One of the major drawbacks of adding signal techniques of reducing peak to average power ratio (PAPR) is the variation of the average power of the transmit signal that undoubtedly degrades the performance of transmission. In this paper, assuming that the baseband OFDM signal is characterized as a complex Gaussian process, we derive an approxim(...)

The water-distilled oil obtained from rhizomes of Daniella Klainei Pierre ex A.Chev (Caesalpiniaceae)
from Gabon was examined by gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography/mass spectrometry
(GC/MS). The major constituent is myrcene (55.42%) along with -pinene (5.39%), -humulène (8.09%)
and Germacrene-D (6.06%). The essential oil posse(...)

Frequency based asymptotic distribution of the PAPR for geometric adding signal approach in OFDM signals context
Guel, D. and Palicot, J. and Bellanger, J.-J.
The distribution of the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) for Geometric method [1] of PAPR reduction in orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) signals is evaluated in order to analyse the influence of the carrier frequency of adding signal on the PAPR reduction. Assuming that the baseband OFDM signal is characterized as a band-limi(...)

Numerical study of cooling water via an evaporatively cooled immersed porous tube
D. BATHIEBO
We present a numerical study of the cooling of a volume of water through the wall of a cylindrical terracotta tube, the pores of which are saturated with water. The internal surface of the wall carries a water film which evaporates by forced convection of hot and dry air. Taking into account the physical properties of the material and that the(...)

L. C. Obame , P. Edou , I. H. N. Bassolé , J. Koudou , H. Agnaniet , F. Eba and A. S. Traore
The essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation from the resin of Dacryodes edulis (G. Don) H. J. Lam was simultaneously analyzed by gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Twenty four components were identified in the essential oil and the main components were sabinene (21.8%),(...)

Provitamin A carotenoid content of dried fermented cassava flour: The effect of palm oil addition during processing
Inocent Gouado , Adelaide Demasse Mawamba , Ruphine Solange Meyimgo Ouambo , Issa Touridomon Some and Tchouanguep Mbiapo Félicité
Vitamin A deficiency is a public health problem in developing countries. Cassava is a major staple food for most Africans. Most often, it is processed into dried fermented cassava (commonly called gari) to limit post harvest losses. The white or yellow type of gari can be obtained without or with the addition of red palm oil respectively. Howe(...)
