Résumé

Music seems to beinnate in African men who practice itfrom an earlyage, in all the circumstances of earthly life. It remains intimately linked to African traditions, hence the name traditional African music attributed to different music which is inspired by African realities and experiences. But Africa has been turned upside down during its history by colonization which will have changed all the habits of African peoples. It is in this vein that African music was influenced by that of Western origin and better still, European and American. From there was born modern Burkinabè and African music as a whole. African peoples will have adhered to this new musical wind if we analyze the rush of the latter towards the new musical practice. And as might be expected, pioneers have sowed the seed, watered and nurturedit to passit on to present and future generations, since the 1960s and even shortly before. Burkina Faso is no exception to the rule. In this article, we want to focus on the musical genres and themes of Francophone Burkinabè musicians from the 70s to the 80s. In which musical genres did these Francophone Burkinabè artistssing and what were their themes? This is the quintessence of this research work.
