Résumé

Modern Burkinabè music is an important part of the culture of this country. Indeed, it has always participated in the life of the Burkinabè nation. From its birth to today, the themes covered are legion, we are tempted to say. As a reminder, modern Burkinabè music initially focused on lyricism for a considerable time. From 1960 to the beginning of the 1990s, love wasstill the subject of predilection for Burkinabè musicians, whether they are French-speaking, mooréphones, julaphones ... However, this theme will be ousted by another, notably the commitment after 1990. A new generation artists were born and their thematic orientation visibly contrasted with that of theirelders. Among themis Black So Man, nick named the child prodigy of Burkinabè music, who will make thisthemehis road map in his career as an artist and musician. In this article, our ambition is to work on the musical journey of this very committed artist. The research question is thus worded: what is the main function of the music of Black So Man? As for the hypothesis, we will say that the music of Black So Man has a committed function and stands against all kinds of social defects. The objective isthen to show the engaged dimension of the music of Black So Man which touches on everything that turns out to be a set back in community life. Hereis a few lines of the reason for this research work, which is a way for us to pay a vibrant tribute to this man of integritystruck down by death in the prime of his life.
