Résumé

In this work we study a system and mechanism designed to enhance the throughput and the packet delivery ratio of a multiuser detection based vehicular ad hoc network (VANET), in two radios channels models. The first models we take into account is the wideband multipath channel and the second a vehicular-to-vehicular radio channel. We have used a network where each radio has a flexible multiuser detection transceiver. It detects each user with a dedicated reception filter, according to the data rate and packets error rate achievable. The transceiver could be reconfigured alternatively into a matched filter for the low performance users, a successive interference cancellation receiver SIC for the medium performance users, a decorrelating receiver or a MMSE receiver for the high-performance users. At MAC (Medium Access Control layer) layer, each radio implements a multiuser detection based protocol defined. To overcome the limit of the layer’s separation architecture, a specific interface MAC and physical layer has been designed. The framework that materializes this interface is composed of the following mechanisms: a modified RTS and CTS handshaking to exchange the information, a channel prediction schemes, a rate adaptation schemes, and a cross-layer module that executes the different tasks. The comparison of the wideband fixe-to-mobile and mobile-to-mobile system gives promising results for vehicular ad hoc networks.
