Résumé
This study aims to show that the proven existence of stigma is an unfavorable factor in the psychological resilience of IDPs in Burkina Faso. Focus groups were conducted with IDPs and host populations. Analysis of the results reveals that experiences of stigma are marked by various forms of discrediting and dehumanizing differential treatment. As a result, these IDPs develop behaviors of withdrawal and avoidance of social contact. This identification of the stigmatization of IDPs opens up initiatives to be undertaken and/or supported in order to move towards de-stigmatization and to optimize the resilience process
