At the beginning of March 2020, Burkina Faso declared nine confirmed cases of Covid-19. By 28 December 2022, the country had recorded 15,290 diagnosed cases, including 260 deaths. This chapter evaluates the use of testing centres in Burkina Faso mainly in 2020 when the pandemic emerged and was spreading rapidly. We map the geographical origins of people coming for testing at one of those health centres in a district of Ouagadougou, the capital city of Burkina Faso. Our findings show that the bulk of the ordinary inhabitants of the district did not use the screening centres, leaving the state with limited knowledge on the extent of Covid-19 infections in the region. There was no general curiosity to know their status. Those who acquiesced to screening for Covid-19 were mainly those who intended to travel, as they had no option except to produce evidence of Covid-19 testing.
