Abstract:The spectra of iron(II) phthalocyanine polymer complexes (FePcL)n with bispyridinato bridging ligands, where L = 44’-bipyridine (bpy), trans-1,2-(4-pyridyl)ethylene
(bpe), 1,2-bis-(4-pyridyl)ethane (bpa), are discussed in comparison with the spectra of FeIIPc
and FePcL'2, where L’ = pyridine, 4-cyanopyridine (4CNpy), in reference to the n backdonation to the macrocycle.
